Dr. Engin’s postdoctoral work was featured in the National Geographic blog. Her PI, Dr. Gökhan Hotamisligil, a geneticist at Harvard University, was interviewed about their research on the diabetes protective effect of a bile acid (TUDCA), commonly found in black bear bile, in preclinical models of type 1 diabetes.
